             The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a BPJ (Bulletproof jacket) weighing 9 kg much lighter than the previous version of 10.4 kg. The jacket has been developed by the Defense Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, a DRDO laboratory. For the Indian Army.

Technology is Front Hard Armour Panel (FHAP) used and tested at terminal Ballistic Research Laboratories Chandigarh and met the standard of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards).

Further, they informed that the importance of this vital development of reducing each gram of weight from BPJ enhances the comfort and survivability of soldiers.
